BIO AND CONTACT

Jakob Xiao Paul Brunnbauer (that’s me!) has been playing guitar since the age of ten learning from various awesome teachers across the globe. Stephan Bulmer at Charles Darwin University was his first teacher followed by Professor Lester Demetillo at the University of the Philippines and Oliver Fartach-Naini at the Elder Conservatorium of Music in Adelaide.

Jakob studied at the University of Adelaide from which he obtained a Bachelor of Music studies. He has undertaken several master classes with established performers and composers including Vincent Lindsey-Clark, Richard Charlton, Shingo Fujii, Raffaele Agostino and others. Jakob also has a full writer’s membership with the Australian Performing Right Association (APRA). He was a member of the Elder Conservatorium Guitar Ensemble for 5 years and has performed with this group and others interstate, overseas, at the First Korean International Guitar Festival and at the Adelaide International Guitar Festival twice where his original compositions were performed.

After exploring the deepest regions of space and time having countless fantastical intergalactic and multidimensional musical rock adventures Jakob now spends his time teaching at various schools, teaching privately from his home studio, performing in local venues and composing.
